A classically trained vocalist and musician with a strong background in musical theater, Mishal Moore began pursuing a recording career after mastering live performance skills that would've been the envy of many established pop and soul stars.
The bold entrepreneur who quit the prestigious Webster Conservatory in St. Louis to return to Florida and run her own non-
pro?t theater troupe; and the aspiring soloist who once auditioned to sing backup for Lauryn Hill. Mishal has recorded 4 albums independently but her true love is for the stage. Over the past 10 years, Mishal has perfected her craft by performing to audiences across America. From a ‘spotlight’ performance at Musikfest to opening for jazz legend, Maceo Parker. Mishal has garnered critical acclaim for her live performances at some of New York's legendary venues.
Mishal's ?ag ship single, “Oh Lord” (chosen to promote the Vanity Fair App for the 2010 Oscars), was released in the summer of 2009. After becoming a success with club DJ’s and audiences, “Oh Lord” also went into radio rotation across America and Europe. Her follow up remixed single, “It Ain’t Over”, received praise and support from Mishal’s ever-growing fan base. Then in 2011, due to the singles avid support, 'It Ain't Over' got another remix treatment by Oxford outfit, Document One. Having made a case for breakthrough single of the summer, this Dubstep remix has already gained serious acclaim with fans and DJ's alike.
In June 2011, after catching the attention of multiple European promotors, Mishal was able to gig across the U.K. and connect with her growing European fan-base. After a dynamic live performance at the Jazz Cafe London, Mishal earned herself an invitation back to the U.K. due to demand from her fans.
Moore's iconoclastic brand of 21st Century pop, astonishes her listeners; not only with a pyrotechnic bang, but with a soulful whisper. Reminding her listeners not to let racial stereotypes limit what they enjoy, think or do.
Now working on her new project, Mishal plans to release an E.P. titled 'I'm Not A Hipster' in spring of 2012. Along with an invitation to go on tour with acclaimed Brushfire Records singer/songwriter Zee Avi and her own U.S. tour already scheduled, Mishal will spend 2012 doing what she does best, perform.
